About Truckee Meadows Community College

Truckee Meadows Community College (TMCC) is a public community college in Reno, Nevada, and part of the Nevada System of Higher Education. The college began offering courses in 1971 and was established as an independent institution in 1979, when the Board of Regents split it from Western Nevada Community College. Its main Dandini Campus is located north of downtown Reno, and the college operates additional educational sites in the area, including the Meadowood Center, the Applied Technology Center, and the Redfield Campus shared with the University of Nevada, Reno. TMCC enrolled 10,885 students in fall 2024, with roughly 72 percent attending part-time, and offers more than 70 programs of study leading to over 160 degree and certificate completion options. Career and technical education is a significant part of the college's mission, with programs in areas such as HVAC, welding, automotive technology, construction, nursing, radiologic technology, dental studies, veterinary technology, culinary arts, and information technology; the automotive program includes a training partnership with Tesla.
