Lone Star College - Tomball

Lone Star College - Tomball is one of eight colleges in the Lone Star College System, a public community college district serving the north and northwest Houston metropolitan area. The Tomball campus opened in 1988 at 30555 Tomball Parkway and is accredited through the system by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC). Lone Star College reports to the federal government as a single institution (IPEDS UNITID 227182), so the enrollment, cost and outcome figures shown on this page are SYSTEM-WIDE for all Lone Star College locations, not campus-level figures for Tomball alone. The system enrolled 73,077 undergraduates in fall 2024, reports a 22-to-1 student-to-faculty ratio, and posted a 21 percent graduation rate for the fall 2018 cohort measured at 150 percent of normal program time. In-district tuition and fees were $3,330 for the 2024-25 year; per-credit rates for 2026-27 are $111 in-district, $249 out-of-district and $313 out-of-state. Tomball's own career and technical strengths are concentrated in health sciences and information technology. Its Health Science Building houses Nursing, Vocational Nursing, Surgical Technology (CAAHEP-accredited), Pharmacy Technology, Occupational Therapy and Medical Laboratory Technology, and the campus also runs an AVMA-accredited Veterinary Technology program and a Medical Administrative Services program. The campus is one of five Lone Star locations delivering the Cisco computer networking certificates and AAS. Tomball also delivers the Electrical Technology program, which the college lists as fully offered at LSC-North Harris, LSC-Tomball and LSC-Creekside Center. Other skilled trades — welding, HVAC and automotive — are taught at other Lone Star campuses and centers rather than at Tomball. Classes run days and evenings across fall, spring and summer terms, with online and hybrid options available.
