Aviation Institute of Maintenance Houston

Aviation Institute of Maintenance Houston is a private career school located at 7651 Airport Blvd near William P. Hobby Airport, one of more than a dozen campuses operated by Aviation Institute of Maintenance nationwide. The campus offers the Aviation Maintenance Technician certificate program, which is FAA-certificated under 14 CFR Part 147 and prepares graduates to test for FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) certification. Training facilities include an 18,000-square-foot airplane hangar with a tool room and electronics labs, plus two additional labs of 3,400 and 21,000 square feet used for powerplant and airframe training with propellers, engines, and other aircraft equipment. Both day and evening class schedules are available. The school is accredited by the Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges (ACCSC) and participates in federal Title IV financial aid programs; College Scorecard reports an enrollment of about 360 students. In the school's 2025 ACCSC student outcomes disclosure, the Houston campus reported a 74 percent graduation rate and a 75 percent in-field employment rate for the Aviation Maintenance Technician cohort that began between September 2021 and August 2022. The campus sits within reach of George Bush Intercontinental Airport, Hobby Airport, NASA's Johnson Space Center, and the Houston Spaceport, and career services include job placement assistance, networking events, and job fairs. No on-campus housing is offered.
