Broward College

Broward College is a public state college in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, founded in 1959 as part of the Florida College System. It is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges and operates a downtown Fort Lauderdale campus along with North, South and Central campuses and additional centers across Broward County. Fall 2024 undergraduate enrollment was 30,728 students, with a student-to-faculty ratio of 31 to 1. The college has an open admission policy and offers associate degrees, bachelor's degrees, and dozens of shorter technical certificates and applied technology diplomas. Career and technical program areas include automotive service technology, building construction technology, marine technology and marine systems, aviation and FAA airframe and powerplant mechanics, culinary arts management, CNC machining, mechatronics and automation, computer and network systems technology, cybersecurity, and criminal justice. Health science offerings include associate degrees in nursing, dental assisting, dental hygiene, radiography, respiratory care and emergency medical services, plus paramedic and EMT credentials. Courses run days, evenings and weekends, with online and hybrid options. Tuition is charged per credit hour at $117.90 for Florida residents at the lower-division level. Students have access to tutoring, childcare and career and employment services.
