Alabama Aviation College

Alabama Aviation College is the aviation training unit of Enterprise State Community College, a public two-year college in the Alabama Community College System. The Ozark campus was established in 1960, came under the Alabama State Board of Education in 1963, and was merged into Enterprise State in 2003; since 2009 it has operated as Alabama Aviation College, a unit of Enterprise State Community College. The college is accredited through Enterprise State by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges. Training centers on FAA-certified aircraft maintenance: students can complete an Airframe Technology certificate in about 12 months or continue through Powerplant coursework to qualify for the FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) mechanic certificate in roughly 18 months, with Associate in Applied Science degree options also offered. General and airframe classes are taught at the Ozark campus and at the Andalusia site at Southern Alabama Regional Airport, while powerplant classes are offered only in Ozark. Ozark classes run in eight-week terms, Monday through Thursday, with day and evening sessions each semester, including summer, starting as early as 7:00 a.m. and as late as 7:10 p.m. For 2026-27, in-state tuition is $133 per credit hour plus $63 in per-credit fees, and airframe and powerplant courses carry an additional $35-per-credit program fee. Enterprise State charges no application fee, and graduates work in aerospace manufacturing, MRO facilities, and military and general aviation.
